2007 Youth Day of Caring

On Saturday, May 5th from 10a to 3p, between one hundred and three hundred youth from all over Washtenaw County will gather for a day of volunteerism and community involvement.  Last year we had about 200 volunteers so we hope to make this year even better! This is the perfect event for you if you want to give back to the community or earn community service hours which look great on college applications.

Youth teams will fan out to community service projects throughout the great Washtenaw County area. This project is sponsored by WATT (Washtenaw Area Teens for Tomorrow), Washtenaw United Way, and Washtenaw Community College.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to engage the youth of Washtenaw County in the spirit of volunteerism and the wonderful impact of nonprofits in the community." says Christie Collins, Assistant Director of Marketing and Special Events for United Way.

Washtenaw County and WATT will provide breakfast, lunch and t-shirts for the youth volunteers.

Please register as a youth volunteer OR how to register your nonprofit agency as a participant in this first Youth Day of Caring. Registration deadline is SOON.
