2008 Youth day of Caring

Washtenaw United Way and Washtenaw County WATT (Washtenaw Area Teens for Tomorrow) have teamed up with Girl Scouts of the Huron Valley Council and Washtenaw County 4-H for their third annual Youth Day of Caring!  The event will be held on Saturday, May 10th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Youth teams will fan out to work at community service projects throughout the greater Washtenaw Area.

Sample projects may include such activities as gardening, cleaning up areas for new playgrounds, cleaning toys, and organizing art material.  Youth Day of Caring is modeled after the annual Washtenaw United Way Day of Caring..

This is a wonderful opportunity to engage the youth of Washtenaw County in the spirit of volunteerism.  Students from Washtenaw County public and private high schools and middle schools, Washtenaw Community College, U of M and EMU will volunteer at each participating non-profit agency. Students, teachers, or community volunteers who are interested in participating should register online at watt.ewashtenaw.org or call Cassie St.Clair, Assistant WATT Director at (734) 973-4384.
